PR firm reprimanded by media house
A well known PR and Advertising firm was reprimanded by a media house, for sending cheques which it said were travel stipend, to some journalists who covered the recent Jazz & Blues festival.
Reports reaching StratCom are that the firm represented a major sponsor of the event. The Account Executive who liased with journalists reportedly said the sponsor was providing a stipend to cover travel expenses for journalists covering the festival.
However reports are that the cheques which arrived at the media house after the festival, were addressed to
individual journalists!
The cheques were brought to the attention of a senior editor, who immediately called the firm and demanded an explanation.
